About the Lessons
The Arts Academy offers online Harp and Piano lessons. The lessons will contain pedagogical, classical and the option of sacred music.
The cost of a half hour lesson is $21.
Kristen Thomsen began studying piano at the
age of six and continued her studies privately
through college. She also had the privilege to
study harp with Anne-Marguerite Michaud of
the Pittsburgh and Baltimore orchestras. Kristen
began teaching in 2007 and graduated with her
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
in 2010. She also received the Arnold Fletcher
Award for exceptional achievement in
Kristen is currently studying with Karen
Burgman, faculty member of the Credo chamber
music program hosted at Oberlin Conservatory.
As a musician, Kristen plays and accompanies for
events and maintains a private teaching studio in

Steinway Educators Partnership and the

This online art mentorship is for the serious student who desires to grow their skills through hard work and discipline. The student will be given instruction, assignments and critique with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and communicate with Melissa during the week.
What Does an Art Mentorship Look Like?
The mentorship includes communication with the student through e-mail and text/audio. The student would receive weekly assignments and feedback. It may also include live or recorded demos online, inspiration, tips and instruction.
Ladies ages 15 and up, with a passion for art and a strong desire to develop their skills.

Melissa Thomsen is a homeschool graduate and holds an Associates degree from Thomas Edison State College. She is currently studying long-distance with a master artist, Lisa Mistiuk. Melissa enjoys a variety of mediums including, charcoal, pen, digital, oil, watercolor and colored pencil.
